In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2023 when the average import price increased by 182% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $31,424 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to March 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for cotton yarn (other than sewing thread), put up for retail sale decreased by -16.8% against 2020 indices.
