Price for Crab and Crab Meat in Bangladesh (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average crab and crab meat export price amounted to $7,131 per ton, with an increase of 8.8% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, crab and crab meat export price decreased by -24.2% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 44% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $9,404 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($18,703 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($4,568 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+24.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Myanmar ($2,853 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($600 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
