Price for Crab and Crab Meat in Oman (FOB) - 2022
The average crab and crab meat export price stood at $2,296 per ton in 2022, reducing by -7.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a modest expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 117%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $6,428 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($20,749 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1,235 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+57.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average crab and crab meat import price amounted to $2,633 per ton, which is down by -27.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 86%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,265 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($27,473 per ton), while the price for Yemen ($862 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+17.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Crab and Crab Meat in Oman
In 2022, approx. 44 tons of crabs and crab meat were exported from Oman; falling by -40.9% on 2021 figures. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 314% against the previous year.
