The average crab and crab meat export price stood at $13,002 per ton in 2022, reducing by -1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 71%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $13,259 per ton, and then fell modestly in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to the United States ($15,756 per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($12,969 per ton), while the average price for exports to Macao SAR ($12,969 per ton) and China ($12,969 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
