In February 2022, the average export price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s amounted to $32,239 per ton, waning by -1.6% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a tangible expansion from February 2021 to February 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on February 2022 figures, export price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s decreased by +0.4% against December 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2021 when the average export price increased by 40% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $40,856 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to February 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Aruba ($32,976 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States totaled $32,224 per ton.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+4.2%).

In general, the import price, however, recorded a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 25%. The import price peaked at $12,107 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($40,962 per ton), while the price for Spain ($5,717 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
