The average import price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s stood at $17,335 per ton in January 2024, growing by 3.4% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2023 to January 2024, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 an increase of 38% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in January 2024.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was China ($18,852 per ton), while the price for Spain ($5,996 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+16.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
