In October 2023, the average import price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds amounted to $5,029 per ton, falling by -30.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 25% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $13,331 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($10,304 per ton), while the price for Chile stood at $3,247 per ton.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds stood at $13,430 per ton in October 2023, growing by 69% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated resilient growth from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +11.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds increased by +69.2% against September 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 97% month-to-month. The export price peaked in October 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($168K per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($9,677 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
