In July 2023, the average export price for cumin seeds, crushed or ground amounted to $5,753 per ton, with a decrease of -8.3% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 60% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $6,276 per ton, and then declined in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($10,854 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($729 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
