In December 2023, the average import price for cyanides and cyanide oxides; of sodia amounted to $2,102 per ton, reducing by -9.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 9.1% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,597 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Australia ($2,351 per ton) and China ($2,128 per ton), while the price for Japan ($1,836 per ton) and the United States ($1,963 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In December 2023, the average export price for cyanides and cyanide oxides; of sodia amounted to $2,135 per ton, shrinking by -2.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 2.6% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $2,700 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Cote d'Ivoire ($2,187 per ton) and Burkina Faso ($2,182 per ton), while the average price for exports to Guinea ($2,000 per ton) and Mali ($2,014 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
