The average export price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds stood at $3,031 per ton in 2022, dropping by -5.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 19%. The export price peaked at $3,217 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($7,697 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($539 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+15.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds increased by +81.7% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $858 per ton, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($2,412 per ton), while the price for Niger ($133 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Burkina Faso (+27.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
