The average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds stood at $1,321 per ton in March 2022, falling by -17.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2021 when the average import price increased by 37% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,644 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to March 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($2,696 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($865 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 when the average export price increased by 107% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $2,633 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to March 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($3,501 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($195 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
