In October 2023, the average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds amounted to $1,758 per ton, falling by -23.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a mild reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 34% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,468 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($4,077 per ton), while the price for Costa Rica ($1,283 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average export price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds amounted to $2,734 per ton, with an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2022 to October 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 24% month-to-month. The export price peaked in October 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($3,485 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($1,232 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+18.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds amounted to $30M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, exports of dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds soared to $13M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +56.6% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
