Price for Dog and Cat Food in Germany (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average dog and cat food export price amounted to $3,092 per ton, with a decrease of -3.1% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 13% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $3,193 per ton in May 2023, and then declined in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($4,630 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($1,886 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average dog and cat food import price amounted to $3,040 per ton, shrinking by -6.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 16% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,257 per ton in May 2023, and then contracted in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($7,872 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($1,882 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Dog and Cat Food in Germany
