Price for Driving and Non-Driving Axle in Russia (CIF) - 2022
In January 2022, the average driving and non-driving axle import price amounted to $6,700 per ton, which is down by -10.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2021 an increase of 15% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $7,604 per ton. From August 2021 to January 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($15,699 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($1,458 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Driving and Non-Driving Axle in Russia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average driving and non-driving axle export price amounted to $3,322 per ton, declining by -2.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 12%. The export price peaked at $5,458 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($4,933 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($1,123 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Driving and Non-Driving Axle in Russia
Driving and non-driving axle imports into Russia contracted to 101K tons in 2022, dropping by -13.5% against the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 116K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, driving and non-driving axle imports declined markedly to $637M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +30.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 60%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $784M, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

Exports of Driving and Non-Driving Axle in Russia

Overall, total exports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +23.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +87.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 66% against the previous year.
In value terms, driving and non-driving axle exports reduced to $40M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.5% over the last three years.
