In December 2023, the average export price for dyes; pigments and preparations based therea amounted to $5,410 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 5.1% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $7,911 per ton. From March 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($8,237 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($1,147 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In December 2023, the average import price for dyes; pigments and preparations based therea amounted to $14,844 per ton, picking up by 28% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $17,065 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($27,827 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($5,566 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
