In March 2022, the average export price for edible products of animal origin; not elsewhere specified or includeds amounted to $471K per ton, waning by -14.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 when the average export price increased by 96% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $702K per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($1.4M per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($32,632 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+18.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for edible products of animal origin; not elsewhere specified or includeds stood at $16,826 per ton in 2022, picking up by 55% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight slump. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $40,061 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($97,606 per ton), while the price for the United States ($6,667 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+18.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +67.0% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, exports of edible products of animal origin; not elsewhere specified or includeds rose remarkably to $591M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +62.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 48%. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
