The average export price for electric motors stood at $12 per unit in 2022, jumping by 18% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($54 per unit), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($3.7 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+12.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for electric motors stood at $4.4 per unit in December 2023, declining by -32.2% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a noticeable increase from December 2022 to December 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2023 figures, import price for electric motors decreased by -32.2% against November 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 71% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $6.4 per unit in November 2023, and then fell remarkably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($21.4 per unit), while the price for China ($2.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+23.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of electric motors, when their volume decreased by -19.3% to 6.9M units. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 31%. The exports peaked at 8.6M units in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, exports of electric motors shrank to $80M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +20.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +74.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 43%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $84M, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of electric motors shrank to $59M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 62%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $68M, and then contracted in the following year.
