The average import price for electric motors stood at $3.3 per unit in December 2023, surging by 1.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 37% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3.8 per unit. From October 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($5.8 per unit), while the price for Poland ($838 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for electric motors stood at $9.7 per unit in 2022, dropping by -13.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 7.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $12 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($26 per unit), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($3.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
