The average import price for electric motors stood at $2.8 per unit in December 2023, with a decrease of -4.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 21% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3.0 per unit in October 2023; however, from November 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($3.3 per unit), while the price for Vietnam ($525 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($99 per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($19 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, shipments abroad of electric motors decreased by -8.9% to 5.5M units, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -15.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 81% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 6.5M units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of electric motors expanded sharply to $291M in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 111%.
