In general, the import price continues to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 46%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,631 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($3,657 per ton), while the price for the United States ($2,064 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) amounted to $1,345 per ton, which is down by -4.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 20% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,743 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($3,792 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($1,200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 22K tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, imports of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) reduced sharply to $41M in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 81%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $52M, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
