In January 2024, the average import price for ethylene polymers; waste, parings and scraps amounted to $530 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 29% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $683 per ton. From March 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was the United States ($531 per ton), while the price for Japan ($528 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for ethylene polymers; waste, parings and scraps amounted to $223 per ton, growing by 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep setback. The export price peaked at $761 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lao People's Democratic Republic ($280 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($127 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
