In December 2022, the average import price for fabrics; "long pile" fabrics, knitted or crocheteds amounted to $1,493 per ton, rising by 6.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 when the average import price increased by 62% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $5,146 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to December 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was India ($1,774 per ton), while the price for China stood at $1,377 per ton.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In November 2022, the average export price for fabrics; "long pile" fabrics, knitted or crocheteds amounted to $7,718 per ton, surging by 6.1% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 when the average export price increased by 31% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $11,525 per ton. From July 2022 to November 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Madagascar.
From February 2022 to November 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Madagascar amounted to -2.1% per month.

In 2022, imports of fabrics; "long pile" fabrics, knitted or crocheteds into Tunisia shrank rapidly to 358 tons, waning by -21% compared with 2021.
