In March 2024, the average export price for fabrics, woven; from strip or the like, of synthetic textile materialses amounted to $2.5 per square meter, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 6% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2.6 per square meter in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to March 2024, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In March 2024, the countries with the highest prices were the UK ($2.9 per square meter) and Italy ($2.9 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Romania ($2.1 per square meter) and Spain ($2.2 per square meter) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for fabrics, woven; from strip or the like, of synthetic textile materialses stood at $0.4 per square meter in 2022, reducing by -2.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $0.5 per square meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1.7 per square meter), while the price for Iran ($0.2 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+13.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Fabrics, Woven; from Strip or the Like, of Synthetic Textile Materials in Turkey
In 2022, the amount of fabrics, woven; from strip or the like, of synthetic textile materialses exported from Turkey skyrocketed to 344M square meters, growing by 32% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +22.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +83.0% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, exports of fabrics, woven; from strip or the like, of synthetic textile materialses skyrocketed to $110M in 2022. In general, exports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 60%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
