Price for Ferrous Waste and Scrap; of Cast Iron in Germany (FOB) - 2023

The average export price for ferrous waste and scrap; of cast ira stood at $371 per ton in November 2023, with a decrease of -6.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 15% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $443 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($454 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($446 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In November 2023, the average import price for ferrous waste and scrap; of cast ira amounted to $334 per ton, waning by -3.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 8.9% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $401 per ton. From May 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($460 per ton), while the price for Switzerland ($186 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
