In 2022, the average import price for ferrous waste and scrap; of stainless steels amounted to $2,083 per ton, surging by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,531 per ton. From September 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for India.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Spain amounted to +5.9% per month.
