In 2022, the average import price for fertilizers; mineral or chemical, phosphatics amounted to $351 per ton, declining by -4.3% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fertilizers; mineral or chemical, phosphatic import price increased by +11.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 70%. The import price peaked at $575 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($864 per ton), while the price for Morocco ($144 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Rwanda.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for South Sudan amounted to +7.7% per year.
