In June 2023, the average import price for fibres; synthetic filament tow, acrylic or modacrylics amounted to $3,129 per ton, growing by 34% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight setback. The import price peaked at $3,788 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($3,202 per ton), while the price for Turkey stood at $2,819 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (-0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
