In 2022, the average export price for fibres; waste (including noils, yarn waste and garnetted stock), of artificial fibreses amounted to $529 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a deep reduction. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,492 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +55.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, imports of fibres; waste (including noils, yarn waste and garnetted stock), of artificial fibreses declined to $991 in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt setback. The smallest decline of -9.2% was in 2020.
