In 2022, the average import price for fibres; waste (including noils, yarn waste and garnetted stock), of synthetic fibreses amounted to $879 per ton, reducing by -30.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 57% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,258 per ton, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($8,257 per ton), while the price for Morocco ($151 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+13.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
