In April 2024, the average import price for fibres; waste (including noils, yarn waste and garnetted stock), of synthetic fibreses amounted to $1,403 per ton, picking up by 5.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 63% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,644 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to April 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,521 per ton), while the price for Mexico ($581 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+7.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
