In 2022, the average import price for fibres; waste (including noils, yarn waste and garnetted stock), of synthetic fibreses amounted to $695 per ton, waning by -5.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 23%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $887 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
