The average export price for fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses stood at $78,090 per ton in November 2023, dropping by -31.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 65% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $143K per ton in September 2023; however, from October 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($157K per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($8,904 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the amount of fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses exported from India rose notably to 273 tons, increasing by 6.8% compared with the previous year. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 16%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, exports of fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses shrank dramatically to $29M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The smallest decline of -0.6% was in 2020.
