In 2022, the average export price for fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses amounted to $2,694 per ton, shrinking by -3.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 68% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,522 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($4,648 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($904 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2014 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+25.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses exported from Pakistan soared to 103 tons, rising by 71% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 2,133% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 113 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of fish; edible offal, fish heads, tails and mawses soared to $277K in 2022. Overall, exports posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 2,055% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
