Price for Fish Fat and Oil in Latvia (FOB) - 2023
The average fish fat and oil export price stood at $3,030 per ton in September 2023, reducing by -1.6% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 51% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $3,079 per ton in August 2023, and then declined modestly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($4,070 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($2,418 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average fish fat and oil import price amounted to $5,717 per ton, waning by -68.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 1,047% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $18,216 per ton, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
