The average import price for fish fillets; frozen, flat fish (pleuronectidae, bothidae, cynoglossidae, soleidae, scophthalmidae and citharidae)s stood at $4,642 per ton in September 2022, reducing by -30.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate temperate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 an increase of 508% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $19,321 per ton. From February 2022 to September 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Pakistan.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Myanmar amounted to +8.6% per month.

The average export price for fish fillets; frozen, flat fish (pleuronectidae, bothidae, cynoglossidae, soleidae, scophthalmidae and citharidae)s stood at $4,162 per ton in 2022, falling by -56.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 187%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $9,497 per ton in 2021, and then fell sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($7,253 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($3,441 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+21.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
