In November 2023, the average import price for fish fillets; frozen, flat fish (pleuronectidae, bothidae, cynoglossidae, soleidae, scophthalmidae and citharidae)s amounted to $10,535 per ton, declining by -5.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 9.9% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $12,186 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to November 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($12,310 per ton), while the price for China ($5,330 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Overall, the export price showed a perceptible increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 120% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $7,442 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($13,730 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($2,085 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+15.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
