In 2022, the average fish; live, ornamental, freshwater import price amounted to $197,896 per ton, picking up by 32% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 103% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($346,447 per ton), while the price for Israel ($61,927 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
