Price for Flax; Hackled or Otherwise Processed, But Not Spun in Hungary (FOB) - 2022
The average export price for flax; hackled or otherwise processed, but not spuns stood at $4,596 per ton in 2022, surging by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 78%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,628 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($4,677 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($4,256 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for flax; hackled or otherwise processed, but not spuns amounted to $2,590 per ton, increasing by 9.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,879 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($3,820 per ton), while the price for France ($2,202 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

As a result, imports attained the peak of 365 tons, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.
