Price for Flax; Hackled or Otherwise Processed, But Not Spun in India (CIF) - 2023

In November 2023, the average import price for flax; hackled or otherwise processed, but not spuns amounted to $4,220 per ton, picking up by 29% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a notable increase from November 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, import price for flax; hackled or otherwise processed, but not spuns decreased by -23.4% against September 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 37% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,511 per ton. From October 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

In general, export price indicated noticeable growth from November 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, export price for flax; hackled or otherwise processed, but not spuns increased by +47.1% against October 2023 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($4,895 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($3,114 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
