In April 2023, the average export price for fluorspar; containing by weight 97% or less of calcium fluorides amounted to $338 per ton, picking up by 28% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable increase from July 2022 to April 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last nine months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on April 2023 figures, export price for fluorspar; containing by weight 97% or less of calcium fluorides increased by +4.5% against January 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 73% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in April 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In April 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($862 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($180 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to April 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for fluorspar; containing by weight 97% or less of calcium fluorides amounted to $162 per ton, reducing by -1.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 1,078% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $597 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Afghanistan.
From 2015 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Afghanistan amounted to +6.4% per year.
Exports of Fluorspar; Containing by Weight 97% or Less of Calcium Fluoride in Pakistan
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of fluorspar; containing by weight 97% or less of calcium fluorides decreased by -8.9% to 64K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 28%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 70K tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, exports of fluorspar; containing by weight 97% or less of calcium fluorides shrank rapidly to $15M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 75%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $19M, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
