In March 2024, the average export price for fresh or chilled cabbage lettuce amounted to $1,121 per ton, reducing by -6.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2023 an increase of 15% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,536 per ton. From January 2024 to March 2024, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In March 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices to the Netherlands ($1,296 per ton) and France ($1,252 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,096 per ton) and Poland ($1,099 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
