Price for Fresh or Chilled Chicory, Other than Witloof Chicory in Norway (CIF) - 2024

In May 2024, the average import price for fresh or chilled chicory, other than witloof chicory amounted to $2,407 per ton, jumping by 47% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a tangible expansion from May 2023 to May 2024: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on May 2024 figures, import price for fresh or chilled chicory, other than witloof chicory increased by +46.7% against April 2024 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 61% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,948 per ton. From July 2023 to May 2024, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, approx. 764 tons of fresh or chilled chicory, other than witloof chicory were imported into Norway; reducing by -17.1% compared with the previous year's figure. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 74%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $2M, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
