The average import price for frozen crabs and crabs meat stood at $10,208 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -20% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a slight reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 34% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $15,648 per ton. From February 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($14,160 per ton), while the price for Chile ($9,244 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
