In July 2023, the average fruit, edible; apples, dried import price amounted to $614 per ton, reducing by -3.6% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated measured growth from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, fruit, edible; apples, dried import price increased by +39.2% against December 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 33% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $636 per ton in June 2023, and then declined slightly in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($581 per ton), while the price for Italy ($440 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
