In 2022, the average import price for furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use amounted to $74 per unit, growing by 2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a pronounced decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 8.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $127 per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($160 per unit), while the price for Lithuania ($35 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use stood at $159 per unit in November 2023, with an increase of 9.7% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to November 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 52% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $163 per unit in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($572 per unit), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($42.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Furniture; Wooden, Other than for Office, Kitchen or Bedroom Use in Croatia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use decreased by -1.6% to 1.3M units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.6% over the last three-year period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 37%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.3M units, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, imports of furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use stood at $95M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 23%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
