The average import price for furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use stood at $88.9 per unit in November 2023, which is down by -4.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 12% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $107 per unit in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($237 per unit), while the price for Sweden ($27.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In November 2023, the average export price for furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use amounted to $174 per unit, rising by 7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 29% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $209 per unit in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($216 per unit), while the average price for exports to Australia ($210 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Furniture; Wooden, Other than for Office, Kitchen or Bedroom Use in the Czech Republic
For the fourth year in a row, the Czech Republic recorded growth in supplies from abroad of furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use, which increased by 1.7% to 4.9M units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 71% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use reduced modestly to $418M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +48.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 49%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $431M, and then declined modestly in the following year.

In general, exports, however, saw a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 14%. The exports peaked at 3M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, exports of furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use contracted modestly to $386M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a significant expansion.
