Price for Glass Fibre and Article in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average glass fibre and article import price stood at $6,313 per ton in 2022, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, glass fibre and article import price decreased by -14.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,345 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($12,530 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($1,734 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+12.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average glass fibre and article export price amounted to $5,054 per ton, with a decrease of -7.7% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 23% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $6,580 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($9,143 per ton), while the average price for exports to Israel ($1,382 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Glass Fibre and Article in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 14K tons of glass fibres and glass fibre articles were imported into Singapore; increasing by 7.3% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible setback.
