The average export price for glass fibres (including glass wool) and articles thereof (eg yarn, woven fabrics) stood at $8,354 per ton in December 2022, remaining stable against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a remarkable increase from December 2021 to December 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +11.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2022 figures, export price for glass fibres (including glass wool) and articles thereof (eg yarn, woven fabrics) increased by +17.8% against July 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 234% month-to-month. The export price peaked in December 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Iraq ($8,548 per ton), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($4,310 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+17.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 when the average import price increased by 332% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $14,266 per ton. From February 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($4,543 per ton), while the price for Bahrain ($2,607 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+16.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
