The average grapes; fresh or dried export price stood at $3,447 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 8.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 23% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $4,715 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Japan ($6,678 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,142 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to New Zealand (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
