Price for Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Oman (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average grapes; fresh or dried import price amounted to $1,305 per ton, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 23%. The import price peaked at $1,318 per ton in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lebanon ($1,944 per ton), while the price for Iran ($398 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lebanon (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $1,686 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ethiopia ($1,876 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($473 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ethiopia (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports of Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Oman

In 2022, approx. 18K tons of grapes; fresh or drieds were imported into Oman; which is down by -4.7% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports showed a noticeable descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 9.5% against the previous year.

In value terms, grapes; fresh or dried imports contracted to $24M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $25M, and then declined in the following year.
